Come to the AIGA San Diego 25th Anniversary Member Bash, you’ll have a chance to bid on our AIGA SD Commemorative Centennial Chair that was featured at last year’s “Facing Forward: AIGA at 100” exhibition in New York City last year. The chair was designed by Etah Chen who graduated from San Diego City College in 2013. Proceeds will benefit the student scholarship at this year’s AIGA San Diego Student Portfolio Exhibition in May.

The Facing Forward: AIGA at 100 exhibition at the National Design Center in New York City celebrated AIGA’s rich history and vibrant future through a timeless design icon: the chair.

Inspired by the fact that AIGA’s earliest members purchased their own Windsor-style chairs for meetings and events, AIGA chapters were invited to customize Real Good chairs (donated by Blu Dot). Dozens of these chairs representing the creative diversity of our community were featured in the exhibition.
