AIGA SDTJ Intrépido Speaker Series featuring Paul B. Drohan and Josh Hassin

The AIGA San Diego Tijuana quarterly Intrépido series spotlights fearless design leadership and will be hosted at the Mingei Museum in Balboa Park.

Throughout the history of design, change has always commanded attention. Many of us can recall surfing the impacts of the internet, of mobile phones, and so many other big, transformative moments in our industry. In recent years, we're starting to see the latest cycle of change in our creative work withthe rapid advancement of new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI). While not entirely new, recent breakthroughs have made these tools a major talking point throughout our profession and beyond with the potential to drastically change the way we approach content creation.

Paul B. Drohan and Josh Hassin have jumped into these possibilities and will be sharing their experiences from what it's been like to learn them and stay informed, to a special look at their processes. Their presentation will be followed by a moderated Q&A with Noelle Langston, along with questions from the audience. You may also share your questions ahead of time in the registration form below. Paul B. Drohan is an Experience-Driven Creative with over 20 years in brand and digital development across all platforms. He strives to build brand value through digital, print and just about anything else a person engages with. He is responsible for leading creative teams focused on brand strategy, content strategy, user interaction strategy, creative direction, brand development, user experience, user interaction, product design, design systems, social media marketing and more.Paul was the digital design program lead at San Diego City College and San Diego Portfolio Studio from 2013 to 2018. His focus was strengthening and growing the digital education system in San Diego. He taught classes with a focus on visual design, interaction design, user experience, brand strategy, mobile first strategy and content development.

Josh Hassin is the Founder and Creative Director of San Diego studio, Look Mister. Before starting Look Mister, Josh was a game developer and Creative Director at Sony Playstation. He enjoys keeping abreast of the latest trends in technology, building games and experimenting with the latest github repos.Look Mister is a multi-disciplinary creative technology group specializing in the creation and development of engaging and entertaining digital content. Working in the fields of AR, VR, Web3D, AI, and Web3. Look MIster builds experiences that utilize the most cutting-edge technologies and techniques.Look Mister’s Innovation & Development Lab consists of leading experts in the fields of computer vision, artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Noelle Langston has been a researcher, designer, and consultant in the world of emerging technologies since 2009, getting her start during the first wave of Web2. She currently runs a design and tech studio, Bold Type, with her younger brother Garrett Langston. Previous work includes serving as the Head of Cognitive Experience Design for an AI product company along with co-leading the Global User Research efforts and a day job in Product Adoption for McKinsey & Company in NYC. A former collegiate student-athlete, she has been a passionate advocate for healthy team cultures ever since. She maintains her creative muscle with pottery, papier-mâché, and a daily-ish drawing practice. Lastly, if the San Diego Wave are reading this, she would immeditely drop all of her design dreams in the dust to join your coaching staff. Just an FYI.
