AIGA Hike: Sycamore Canyon Preserve, Poway/Santee

Walk off that turkey and ham feast on this beautiful mountain trail. This time for sure we are heading to the Goodan Ranch Sycamore Canyon Preserve.

 

This moderate hike offers more than 10 miles of trails leading to beautiful mountain views. We'll see plenty of wildlife along the way, learn about the history surrounding the ranch, and have many steps to exchange a story or two with a fellow creative.

Distance: 7 miles, approximately 4 hours
Difficulty: Moderate
Elevation Change: 1,630 feet
Dog-Friendly: Yes, on-leash

Parking: Drive down the dirt road (which is a bit bumpy but otherwise well-maintained), and look for the large parking area. The trail head is located at the southwestern end of the parking lot.
