AIGA San Diego LINK kicks off the 2013–14 year on Saturday, October 26.

AIGA San Diego is now taking applications for student participants for the 2013-14 school year.

LINK is an AIGA San Diego program that connects teens in need with artists and creative professionals, encouraging expression, creativity and self-esteem through innovative workshops and educational scholarships. Working professionals in the design, photography, illustration, and other creative fields teach workshops for the students.

The program is FREE and includes 10 workshops, art supplies and snacks. LINK meets twice a month on Saturdays at 9:00am–1:00pm.

To participate applicants need to:

1. Be a student between the ages of 14–19.
2. Have an interest in art/design.
3. Reside in San Diego County.
4. Qualify based on the income chart:

5. Bring 3 samples of their artwork or photographs of large pieces to the orientation and be prepared to talk about it. At the orientation, they need to fill out an application.
6. If students are under 18, their parents will need to sign a consent form at the start of the program.

Students may also download an application, fill it out and bring it to the orientation.

Interested students should send an email to LINK@sandiego.aiga.org if they plan on attending the orientation so we can know how many to expect.
