Peach’s Pen Pal Project is Ready to Roll!

Peach’s Pen Pal Project is ready to roll!

The first postcard packs have been delivered to Peach’s Neet Feet! Peach’s Pen Pal Project was the first “design in action” project created by the AIGA San Diego, Design For Good Committee. The project provides a connection between “Design for Good”, a movement to ignite, accelerate and amplify design-driven social change and “Peach’s Neet Feet”, a non-profit organization that believes in random acts of kindness for children suffering from 70 different illnesses and disabilities.

Local San Diego creatives came together at a Design for Good event on October 2014 to launch this project, creating over 80 hand-drawn images. The images were turned into postcards (printing and paper donated by ReproMagic) and assembled into packs of 5 with crayons and colored pencils (donated by the event attendees), and stickers (donated by Jakprints). Each pack contains 5 postage stamps (donated by AIGA San Diego), and designed by Michael Osborne.

What is Peach’s Neet Feet?

“At Peach’s Neet Feet, our whole heart is to bring joy to children suffering from chronic illnesses and disabilities. We paint their dreams and hopes and memories on shoes to ensure that children know they are loved while going through difficult treatments. We want every child facing the difficulty of long-term treatment to know someone else cares and was willing to create a unique uplifting gift. One-of-a-kind…just like them”.
