AIGA San Diego Tijuana welcomed over 370 guests to the world premiere of the Graphis Designers for Peace International Poster Exhibition: United with Ukraine. The bi-national event kicked off on Wednesday, November 16th, with over 200 guests in attendance at UCSD Park & Market in downtown San Diego.

Local Chapter Votes to Officially Change Name to AIGA San Diego Tijuana
Over the course of nearly three decades, AIGA San Diego and has cultivated cross-cultural relationship among design professionals throughout San Diego, Tijuana and the greater Baja region. The AIGA San Diego board of directors recently voted to rename the organization to reflect the bi-national collaboration and membership from Tijuana and Baja. The motion was approved unanimously.

2024 San Diego - Tijuana Designation of World Design Capital Brings Uncommon Opportunities to Region
Every two years, the World Design Organization (WDO) recognizes cities around the world for effective use of design to drive economic, social, cultural and environmental development via the designation of the World Design Capital (WDC). Past cities include Lille Metropole, Mexico City, Taipei, Cape Town, Helsinki, Seoul, Torino and most recently Valencia.

Theresa Zettner
Theresa is a recent design graduate of San Diego City College with a focus in branding and motion design. This North Park resident offers her services as a freelance designer to clients and agencies throughout the San Diego region. Zettner values her AIGA membership, and sees it as a crossroads that helps deepen her creative community and provide valuable visibility to design-focused events, organizations and opportunities. Theresa began her career as a programs and events planner for the YMCA. She later made a conscious choice to pivot, pursuing her passion of a career in design. Zettner is also an accomplished ultimate frisbee competitor with over a decade of experience, competing most recently in the 2021 San Diego Super Bloom of the Western Ultimate League.

argotta finds inspiration throughout San Diego, and appreciates the vastness of the city, the creativity of its residents and the many sub-cultures within it. Frankie pursued his BA in Visual Communications from Savannah College of Art and Design while on active duty as a Special Operator for the U.S. Military, a position he held for eleven years. He sees his AIGA membership as a catalyst of inspiration, and has found that his AIGA connections have helped him to feel more at home within our diverse creative community. Margotta is a sneakerhead and coffee addict and is always on the hunt for both.

Abby brings more than 20 years of experience to the table as a brand, design and mass communications professional. Based in Encinitas, California, she specializes in identity and strategy and teaches graphic design at Pacific Ridge School. Miller’s career has been guided by a common thread of curiosity, communication and connection. She most loves the diversity of industries, cultures and disciplines that design reaches and influences, recognizing that design is a driver of meaningful change. Abby feels fortunate to have connected with talented designers and creative firms throughout San Diego and Tijuana throughout her AIGA membership and Y-Conference attendance over the years. Most recently, Abby began exploring pottery as a new artistic outlet. In this hobby, she’s been reminded that the process of creation is not exclusively dependent on the outcome.

Born and raised in San Diego, California, Kassandra has had a front-row seat to the impact of design at a young age alongside her mother and aunt, MaeLin and Amy Levine, owners of Visual Asylum. Their design influence enhanced her passion for branding, packaging and environmental design. Kassandra is a part-time designer and full-time student at San Diego City College.
