All levels of experience, age and fitness are welcome. We'll hike in moderation for this 4 mile round-trip to enjoy the outdoors, some good conversations, and a sense of accomplishment when we return.
Meet us at 8am at the trail head across from Mission Dam parking area (look for the AIGA sign)

Directions From Interstate 8: Take 8 to the Mission Gorge/Fairmount exit. Turn north onto Mission Gorge Road. Proceed down Mission Gorge Road for 6.5 miles to the Kumeyaay Lake entrance to Father Junipero Serra Trail. Turn left onto Father Junipero Serra Trail. About 0.7 miles down on Father Junipero Trail is a large vehicle gate to the Old Mission Dam parking area. Park here or If this lot is full, you can also park along the side of the road leading up to the parking lot. The trailhead starts across from the parking lot.
From Highway 52: Take Highway 52 east toward El Cajon and exit at Mast Boulevard. Turn left onto Mast, and then make a right turn onto Mission Gorge Road. Bear right when Mission Gorge Road splits off into Junipero Serra Road. About 0.7 miles down on Father Junipero Trail is a large vehicle gate to the Old Mission Dam parking area. Park here or If this lot is full, you can also park along the side of the road leading up to the parking lot. The trailhead starts across from the parking lot
