Funding for the arts in our education system is continually being cut. There are many high-school aged kids in San Diego that are talented artists, and without the influence of the LINK program, they may miss out on the art and life experiences that LINK provides.
AIGA Members $45
LINK is an AIGA San Diego program that connects teens in need with artists and creative professionals, encouraging expression, creativity, and self-esteem through innovative workshops and educational scholarships. Every year, students are recruited who will benefit from the artistic, motivational, and financial assistance to establish career and life goals.
LINK is growing each year, and with growth comes new challenges. LINK has recently moved to a new, safer, larger location in San Diego where they finally call their meeting place "home."
Aaron Ishaeik, whose illustrations and design work have been featured in international publications, including Graphics and Creativity, has offered to host a workshop to LINK raise money to support their continued efforts with high-school aged kids in San Diego. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to LINK.
Aaron has won a regional Emmy® Award for his commercial work for the Port of San Diego as well as The City of Chula Vista; and created 30+ hand-illustrated icons for every park and recreation center in San Diego County, as part of a strategic branding initiative for the County of San Diego Department of Parks & Recreation winner of a Platinum Marcom award and Emerging Brand of the Year from the San Diego Ad Club.
At a time when funding for arts education is being cut, LINK helps expose kids to new things.
“LINK offers a lot of opportunities you can’t get anywhere else.”
“LINK is able to give you more opportunities and variety to test out different types of art that you wouldn’t be able to do on your own.”
“It inspired us to do more art outside the workshops.”
I cannot attend, but I would like to make a donation to LINK.
