AIGA San Diego celebrates Dia de los Muertos in Old Town!

This event is FREE for everyone, we ask that you RSVP for a head count.

Celebrate Dia de los Muertos with AIGA San Diego. Meet us at the Visitor's Center in Old Town San Diego State Historic Park to enjoy the colorful pageantry of this great Mexican tradition. We'll take in the art, entertainment and festivities before proceeding down San Diego Avenue to visit the many unique altars on display memorializing those loved ones that have passed on. Because there is so much to see and do, this is an "open-ended" group outing to share in this cultural design experience together.

There will be both traditional and contemporary altars on display, and a host of vibrant Catarinas holding court throughout the park. There will be live entertainment, artistic flower decorations, face painting, and other surprises followed by a parade procession on San Diego Avenue. A feast for the eyes and inspiration for the soul.

Meeting Location:
Visitor's Center at the flagpole (middle of Park).
The best main entrance is off Congress Street across from Old Town Transit Center/MTS. The park address is 4002 Wallace St. between Juan St. and Calhoun St.

Parking:
If you do drive to Old Town, the earlier you get there the better. Street parking is available and also in any of the many free parking lots including Caltrans and MTS lots. There are some paid lots, buyer beware!

Transportation:
Strongly recommend public transportation, Trolley, Bus, Uber, Lyft, Taxi, bike, scooter or ?
