Historic Soviet Poster Show at San Diego City College

View rare historical Soviet posters that focus on political themes, social issues and the arts in the periods during Perestroika and Glasnost. These historical posters will be featured alongside new works created by contemporary designers and illustrators. In 1989 these posters were shown at the La Jolla Museum of Contemporary Art and became part of an AIGA traveling show sponsored by the NEA. Just in time to celebrate AIGA San Diego’s 25th anniversary.

The FREE opening reception is Friday night March 13th from 6-9pm and will feature Russian historical figures in costume, a dance performance and on site silk screening. The show will run March 13-April 13, 2015 at the stunning new City Gallery on the San Diego City College Campus. 1508 C Street, AH314, San Diego City College, downtown San Diego. Free parking in the MS building during the opening.
